About Kreig LLC Houston

Kreig LLC handles contested probate matters, dependent administrations, and large or complex estates in Houston and the surrounding counties.

What We Do

We’re a probate litigation firm. Our work is the estates that have gone wrong or grown complicated, and the ones with enough value at stake that a mistake gets expensive. That includes will contests, removing an executor, breach of fiduciary duty claims, court-supervised dependent administrations, contested heirship, and trust litigation. It also includes estates with multi-county real property, mineral interests, family businesses, or out-of-state executors.

We appear in all five Harris County statutory probate courts. Texas Government Code Section 25.1031(c) establishes the five courts, which make up the largest dedicated probate bench in Texas:

  • Probate Court No. 1, Judge Jerry Simoneaux
  • Probate Court No. 2, Judge Pamela Medina
  • Probate Court No. 3, Judge Jason Cox
  • Probate Court No. 4, Judge James Horwitz
  • Probate Court No. 5, Judge Fransheneka Watson

Courts 1 through 4 are at 201 Caroline Street. Court No. 5 is at 1115 Congress Street.

What We Do Not Do

We don’t handle simple uncontested probates, muniments of title, small estate affidavits, affidavits of heirship, or simple wills. If that’s what your situation calls for, we’ll tell you on the first call and point you to someone who does that work at a cost that fits it.

We made that choice on purpose. Contested probate is where our experience counts, and keeping our practice focused on it lets us give those cases the attention they need.

Counties We Serve From Houston

We handle matters in Harris, Fort Bend, Galveston, Montgomery, and Brazoria Counties. Estates with real property in more than one of these counties are routine for us, and they’re one of the situations where going without a lawyer tends to get expensive.

Kreig LLC also has offices in Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin, San Antonio, El Paso, Corpus Christi, and West Texas, so an estate with property in several parts of the state can stay with one firm.

Start the Conversation

The first conversation is a short call, and it’s free. Bring what you have: the will if there is one, the cause number if a case is already open, the date letters were issued or the will was admitted, and a short description of who’s on the other side.

Schedule a consultation or call (281) 219-9090.
